Workshop: ‘Home Retrofit & Energy Saving,’ 5 August 12-1.30pm
Event: ‘Home Retrofit & Energy Saving’ Community Workshop
Date: Tuesday 5 August 2025, 12-1:30pm
Location: Fair Play Cafe, York Road, Ringsend, Dublin
Join us at The Fair Play Cafe for a free informative community event where you can learn all about making your home more energy-efficient and get the latest updates about sustainable energy in our community. The workshop will cover topics like traditional home retrofits, SEAI grant options, simple no/low-cost energy saving tips to use at home, and more to empower you and our community.
Based on what we heard from the community at our last event in February, we have planned a panel discussion and QnA on home retrofitting, featuring traditional homes retrofit expert Stephen Farrell (SEAI), and mentor for SEAI's Sustainable Energy Communities programme Ger Doherty. Stephen will talk about a national pilot project for retrofitting traditional homes. Ger will give an overview of SEAI grants. We'll also launch a community energy saving competition, discover easy ways to reduce your home energy bills, and feature news about what’s been happening in our community with sustainable energy recently.
All welcome; bring a neighbour, or your family. Teas/coffees & pastries will be provided.

Event: ‘Energy Dialogue,’ Tuesday 11 February 2025, 12-4pm
Event: Community 'Energy Dialogue'
Date: Tuesday 11 February 2025, 12noon-4pm
Location: Fair Play Cafe, York Road, Ringsend, Dublin
We’re hosting an ‘Energy Dialogue’ on Tuesday 11 February, 12-4pm, at the Fair Play Café in Ringsend, Dublin.
Participants will receive a catered lunch in addition to compensation for their time.
The ‘Energy Dialogue’ aims to give up to 30 citizens and energy stakeholders time and space to talk about their views on the energy transition through guided prompts. Participants will discuss, learn about, and make recommendations on local energy issues, what should happen with energy, and how local energy issues should change.
Participants are invited to share their insights, knowledge, questions, and concerns about local energy issues. Participants don't have to be an expert or know a lot about energy to participate. A willingness to share your views on your experiences choosing an energy provider, paying energy bills, and using energy in your daily life, for example, is what’s involved. You'll meet people from all walks of life, learn with peers and speakers, and discuss issues in small groups with facilitators who will make sure everyone can express themselves in a friendly and respectful environment.
The Ringsend Irishtown Sustainable Energy Community (RISEC) is supporting this event which is led by the ‘DIGITISE’ team. DIGITISE is a 3-year EU project that aims to understand how to empower and engage citizens in the energy transition.
We would be delighted if you can participate!
